Upcoming changes at Decal España

Starting next month of June, J. Ignacio Pujol will be stepping down from his position as Managing Director, which will entail a restructuring within our organization. Ignacio joined CAPESA in April 1991, and in January 1994, the DECAL Group acquired 100% of the company’s shares, leading to the change in denomination to Decal España in May 2000. Throughout his tenure with us, Mr. Pujol has played an active role in the construction, launch, and successful operation of the Group’s Terminals in Panama and Brazil.

As of June 6, 2023, we are pleased to announce that Pablo Fernández Canga will assume the role of Managing Director. Pablo Canga has been part of our team since May 2012holding the position of Comercial Director and Deputy MD for the past 11 years. During this time, he has been preparing himself for this new role, and we are confident that he will successfully lead the changes and challenges within DECAL’s structure.

Furthermore, we are pleased to share that Franziska Mährlein will take on the position of Commercial Director. Her extensive commercial experience, operations knowledge, and strategic vision coming from the shipping industry will be immensely valuable in her new role. This will further increase female representation in the Company’s Management Committee, in accordance with our commitment to equality.

We want to emphasize that these changes in leadership will not imply modifications to our company’s strategy. We are fully satisfied with our trajectory and intend to maintain it as it has developed over the years. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and recognition to Ignacio Pujol, who has held this  position for 32 years. His expertise and knowledge will continue to be valuable to us, as he will remain involved with DECAL as an external advisor in the company’s strategy. Likewise, we would like to congratulate Pablo F. Canga on his new position as Managing Director. We are aware of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and have confidence in his ability to lead the company toward a successful future.
